Welcome to Girls Who Get Around

For the restless and the adventurous, the revelries begin here.Whether you’re looking for your own adventure or simply an honest and amusing travel tale, we would like to share the world with you via the scenic route. Get inspired. Get lost.

Why We Get Around…

Travel to understand our shared values and sources of emotion. No matter how far from home, or how foreign a place may feel, it still fascinates me when I witness an emotion, expression, or a tone that could be given by my mother.  It’s familiar and makes me feel at home. At our core, what we share is what matters.

Travel to find perspective. Your reality may feel inevitable and all-consuming, but it doesn’t have to be.  Travel offers the opportunity to step back and use the wide-angle lens on your life.  Discovering the larger picture, the larger world, helps you to analyze your own, and ask better questions.  You may find you’re normal isn’t very normal.

Travel to make friends. Travel is not an escape or way to disconnect, but rather a way to connect, with others and with yourself. Talk to strangers. Eat new foods. Drink their drink. Sing their songs. See how other people think, feel, and experience. You may like it better.

Travel to witness. It’s big and beautiful world, and you’re only here once, so be selfish. Experience all of it.

Travel for adventure. I’m pretty sure, just like you, I was a little afraid the first time I stepped up on to both wobbly feet from all fours. And when I let go of the coffee table, I was probably even more nervous.

But, just like you, I’m glad I did.

Let go.
